Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Sunstrider Labradoodles different from other breeders?
We are small-scale hobby breeders who raise occasional, carefully planned litters with a focus on health, temperament, and breed development. All our dogs are fully health tested with BVA hip and elbow scoring and DNA screening. Puppies are home reared for the best socialisation, and we hold a 5-star breeding licence with Milton Keynes Council. Our Labradoodles come from exceptional bloodlines with over 30 show champions, and our girls stay with us as loved pets after retirement.
Where are your dogs and puppies kept?
All of our dogs live in our home as much-loved family pets, and our puppies are raised in the heart of our household. We do not use kennels, so our puppies grow up surrounded by everyday sights and sounds, helping them become well-socialised and confident before leaving for their new homes.
How are your puppies socialised?
Our puppies are raised entirely in our home, where they are introduced to everyday household sights, sounds, and routines. From an early age, they experience gentle handling, play, and interactions with adults and children to help them grow into confident, well-adjusted companions. We gradually expose them to different environments, toys, and experiences to build their confidence before they leave for their new homes.
What health tests do you perform?
All of our breeding dogs have BVA hip and elbow scoring and full DNA testing for hereditary conditions that affect both parent breeds. We are proud to be the first Standard Labradoodle breeder in the UK to fully health test our breeding dogs. Standard vet checks alone are not enough, as proper hip and elbow scoring and DNA testing are essential to give every puppy the best possible start in life. Full details of the health testing we perform are listed on each of our dogs profiles.
What support do you offer after taking a puppy home?
When you have a puppy from us, you become a part of the Sunstrider family. We provide lifetime support for all our puppy owners and are always available to give advice on training, health, nutrition and general care. We also offer a private community platform just for Sunstrider puppy owners, where families can stay in touch, share updates and seek guidance as their dogs grow.
